This past meeting allowed for extra time to discuss writing topics beyond our prompts. It’s always nice to swap ideas, successes, inspirations (and movie recommendations) with fellow writers.
As most of you reading this know, we “get” each in a way non-writers don’t.
Bad habits were perfect fodder for character development. Why did your character do what they did? How did others respond to those habits?
According to our Prompt Clubbers, some people joke, others kill, are killed, suffer endlessly, or are (in)conveniently removed from further judging. And some folks just pick and flick.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday, October 16, 6-8 pm.
The prompt is #21 on your new sheet, “Write a story inspired by a photograph.” (Please provide the photograph with the story.)
Pictures lend themselves to many genres so be creative, challenge yourself to write outside your comfort zone, but within a thousand word limit.
