No matter where you are in the writing process, there’s always something else that needs to be done. Unless you are in writer-mode and really don’t need a project-focused distraction (good for you!),
the In Print Challenge this month is to plan ahead. Do research on a potential agent or publishing house that would be a good match for your finished project. Work on a query letter.
Try out your premise in a synopsis. There are many different ways to present a brief write-up of your work, challenge yourself to a one line summary. Then a paragraph. Continue with a full page, then a two page synopsis.
(Perhaps it’s easier to work backwards?) Hopefully considering your work in progress in these terms will help focus your energies once you get back to the keyboard!
