April is National Poetry Month. National Poetry month was first inaugurated in 1996 by the Academy of American Poets. Every April, schools, publishers, libraries, booksellers, and poets throughout the United States celebrate poetry – its history, influence and importance in American culture. In Print is joining in the celebration by having Christine Swanberg, a multi-published and awarded community poet and teacher host our April 13 meeting. Her program is called “The Shape a Poem Makes,” and will go over the elements, styles, sounds and possibilities of a poem.
