We celebrated National Poetry Month at the April meeting.  Christine Swanberg led us through the poem Where I’m From by George Ella Lyon.

“…I’m from the know-it-alls
and the pass-it-ons,
from Perk up! and Pipe down!
I’m from He restoreth my soul
with a cottonball lamb
and ten verses I can say myself.”

Each of us tried our own hand at writing a list poem.  There are several other writing exercises on George Ella Lyon’s website.  Feel free to try and share the result at our In Print monthly meetings.  Every meeting features “member time” at the end now.  Sign up to do a reading, five to ten minutes in length.
