History may repeat, but not if we writers can help it! This month’s suggested prompt is #10 on our list, “Reimagine a real event with a significant change.” The event has to be real, but it doesn’t have to be historical or major– c’mon, Cubs fans, here’s your chance to win the World Series in this century! Play around with the “one that got away,” or add a twist to a personal turn of events. Maybe your change makes the planet a better place to live, or maybe the outcome was inevitable despite your best imagined efforts. As always, aim to keep your stories to around a thousand words. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 21. The library has booked our room for their own meeting, but has generously offered us the large meeting room (where the In Print meeting is normally held).
Celebrate National Short Story Month with us! We are currently open to new members. We meet the third Tuesday of each month at the Cherry Valley District Library from 6 pm to 8 pm. Members are expected to write a monthly prompt as selected by the group, attend meetings, and critique others’ work. If you are interested in joining The Prompt Club, contact Mary Lamphere.
