Celebrating 25 years of great writing, the UW-Madison Institute takes place April 4 – 6 at the Madison Concourse Hotel just off Capital Square in downtown Madison. This is the Midwest’s premiere writers’ conference filled with three days of education, entertainment, and writing inspiration.
The year’s event features 25 outstanding speakers including Nathan Bransford, Michael Perry, Dale Kushner, Jane Friedman, Jacquelyn Mitchard, Kathie Fong Yoneda, Marilyn Atlas, and Roy Hoffman.
Our agents include representatives from New York agencies Jean V. Naggar Literary, Jane Rostrosen Agency, Kimberley Cameron & Associates and Dystel and Goderich, along with agents from Foreward Literacy, Sadler & Caravette, and The Purcell Agency in the Chicagoland area.
We’ll celebrate our Success Stories during our Friday lunch and offer opportunities to pitch to agents and editors throughout Friday and Saturday of the conference. There are critique groups to join along with a Page & Poem Contest to enter. Written critiques and advanced manuscript critiques are offered. The conference also features one-on-one meetings with our instructors along with exclusive Fireside Chats with some of our keynote speakers. Networking opportunities are great.
If you sign up before March 14, the cost to attend Friday is $160, attend Saturday/Sunday (Sunday is a half-day) is $160, and $260 to attend all three days.
