Most of our members were able to make February’s meeting of The Prompt Club. The prompt was “Focus on your Genre”. Often times, the “hardest” prompts bring out our best work. Several members pushed the envelope of their genre, others experimented with a new genre. It seemed to make the writers more aware of their choices, depending upon the genre that was showcased in the reading.
Out next meeting will be Tuesday, March 17, 2015, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Cherry Valley District Library. The selected prompt is “Second Person Point of View.” Most stories seem to be either first person or third person. Give the second perspective some love, where you are the main character. Wikipedia has more information on Second Person Narrative. If you can’t get the hang of it, try to rewrite a story where you become the main character. You can do it (see what I did there?)!
