Our September 12 In Print meeting and writers’ retreat will be at Lake Summerset as guests of the Lake Summerset Writing Gals. Our business meeting will begin at 9:00 am with morning snacks and beverages, followed about 10:00 am with a talk from Laurie Scheer, a veteran of Hollywood screenwriting and director of the Madison Writers’ Institute. These will be in the Lake Summerset office conference room.
For those who plan to stay to write in the afternoon, we’ll have a light (free) lunch — food still to be determined. (If you have special diet needs, you’ll have to brown-bag it.)
Indoor lovers can write at the office, but for those who would like to write by the lake, we’ll have a reserved picnic shelter with electrical outlets (be sure your gear is fully charged before you come, though, and bring an extension cord.) There’s also a gazebo overlooking the lake and picnic tables on the lawn and at the beach. Bring a lawn chair if you’d like to find your own spot amid the trees and a camera if you’d like to take some “set” shots. And don’t forget a jacket, in case the day is on the crisper side. Plan to stay until 4:00 pm.
We will need to know you’re coming no later than September 10 so we can plan for lunch and morning snacks. Send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name (and the names of any friends you may be bringing). You’ll receive a confirmation email, a map and directions after your tell us you’re coming. Lake Summerset is a gated community, so your name will be on a list at the main entrance. When you get your pass, you’ll see the office on your right. Find a place to park (there’s plenty in the back) and join us for a great day of inspiration and writing.
And save November 7 for another retreat at Lake Summerset.
